Sean Joseph Brennan, a 58-year-old resident of Hudson, Wyoming, received a sentence of 120 months in federal prison followed by ten years of supervised release for possession of child pornography. The court mandated restitution amounting to $33,000 to the victims identified in the material he possessed. The investigation began when the Lander Police Department (LPD) sought assistance from the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force after receiving information about Brennan’s online interactions with someone he believed to be 13 years old. Detectives executed search warrants on his property and discovered electronic devices containing numerous images and videos classified as child sexual assault material (CSAM). The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Z. Seth Griswold, and U.S. District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson imposed the sentence on June 25 in Cheyenne.

In another case, Tyler Kihlstrom, aged 35 from Gillette, Wyoming, was sentenced to 168 months in federal prison with an additional five years of supervised release for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine. From March through May 2024, Kihlstrom and others were involved in acquiring methamphetamine in Colorado for distribution in Wyoming. His arrest occurred near Douglas after agents conducted controlled purchases from him; he was found with 549 grams of methamphetamine and over $8,000 in cash. This case was investigated by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Cameron J. Cook. Chief U.S. District Court Judge Kelly H. Rankin delivered the sentence on June 26 in Cheyenne.

Jorge Perez-Romero, a 51-year-old Mexican national, was sentenced to time served and will be deported following his illegal reentry into the United States. He was arrested by the Wyoming Highway Patrol for traffic offenses on April 6, 2025, leading Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to discover his previous removal from the U.S., without permission to reenter since June 2005. ICE conducted this investigation while Assistant U.S. Attorney Cameron J. Cook handled prosecution duties before U.S. District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson who imposed the sentence on June 24 in Cheyenne.
