U.S. Attorney’s Office to announce prosecution in cocaine distribution case

The United States Attorney’s Office announced on Mar. 17 that it will hold a press conference to discuss the successful prosecution of a three-year investigation into a cocaine distribution conspiracy spanning Teton County, Wyoming and Teton County, Idaho.

The press conference is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 20, at the U.S. Attorney’s Office Headquarters in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The event will address the conclusion of the case following the recent sentencing of the fifth and final defendant involved in the conspiracy.

According to the announcement, law enforcement agencies including the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, Drug Enforcement Agency, United States Postal Inspection Service, Teton County Sheriff’s Office in Idaho, and Idaho State Police were involved in investigating the crime.

Speakers at the press conference will include Darin Smith, United States Attorney for the District of Wyoming; Ronnie Jones, Director of the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation; and Dave Olesky, Special Agent in Charge at the Drug Enforcement Administration.

The office has provided both an in-person and virtual attendance option for members of the media. Those wishing to attend are asked to RSVP by Thursday, March 19.
